What is The Reddix Rules Fund?
The Reddix Rules Fund is a grant intended to assist small women owned businesses affected by COVID-19.
Dr. Angela Reddix is celebrating 15 years in business this year of 2021. In honor of those 15 years in business and in the wake of this global crisis Dr. Angela Reddix wanted to giveback to WOC entrepreneurs. The Reddix Rules Fund was established to provide financial support to women of color-owned businesses during this time of hardship. This year, small women-owned businesses that are interested in government contracting are encouraged to apply.
The three components of Reddix Rules consist of a 10 hour entrepreneurship program, 10 hours of mental wellness resilience coaching, and a $20,000 financial reward following a pitch competition, aiming to help minimize the financial and personal disruptions that many are facing during the current pandemic.
When will the application portal be open?
The Reddix Rules Fund portal will begin accepting applications on Monday, April 20th at 3:00pm ET. through April 30th at 11:59pm ET.
Who is eligible to apply?
Majority small women-owned businesses in Hampton Roads. We are looking for 10 women of color entrepreneurs. These entrepreneurs must also be interested in government contracting. To qualify for this grant the business must be in good standing and incorporated as a legal entity, and be able to demonstrate that the COVID_19 pandemic is causing financial hardship. The woman must work their business fulltime and not have other employment. Residents must be 21 or older to apply.
How much funding is available?
Between May 9th and May 18th, Dr. Angela Reddix, via The Reddix Rules Fund, will award 10 COVID-19 assistance grants to small women of color-owned businesses in Virginia. A total of $20,000 will be awarded. 10 women will be selected for the 10-hour cohort. 3 women will win the pitch competition.
How will the grants be awarded?
The Reddix Rules Fund will announce one recipient each day beginning on May 9th until May 18th. 10 women will be selected for the 10-hour cohort. 3 women will win the pitch competition. A total of $20,000 will be awarded:
- 1st prize $10,000
- 2nd prize $5,000
- 3rd prize $2,000
- The remaining 7 women will each receive $500
