Introducing April Woodard

April Woodard (@1aprilwoodard), a Hampton Roads native, is one of the original hosts of Coast Live when the program launched in 2014. She has been Emmy nominated twice for as a TV Host. April got her start as a reporter and anchor right here at WTKR in the late 90’s.
After her stint in Virginia, Woodard was a New York based senior correspondent for Inside Edition, where she scored one of last interviews with Joan Rivers, reported on 9/11 and did red carpet interviews with Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Beyonce and JLO. She also served as an anchor and reporter for Black Entertainment Television hosting specials including A Conversation with President Obama, Michael Jackson Forever the King, and Music Around the Globe which was nominated for an NAACP Award.
April is a Visiting Professor at Norfolk State University and a Media and marketing consultant for Favor Multi-Media. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she lives in Chesapeake with her husband, Pastor Adrian Woodard and two children, Adrian and Alek.

Charreah K. Jackson (@Charreah) serves as a global coach, trainer and communications consultant with clients on five continents. She is the founder of Shine Army, serving leaders to own their life story and share it with the world.  She is a bestselling author with her first book available globally including Australia and New Zealand. Charreah is a sought-after speaker and a licensed minister. She has been featured by Good Morning America, Business Insider, and Fast Company and is a contributor for ELLE and the New York Times. Charreah previously served as ESSENCE Senior Editor where she worked for a decade empowering millions.  Her clients range from Fortune 500 companies to community organizations including Chase, Bumble and Dress for Success. Before turning 25, Charreah battled cancer, was downsized from her dream job and found out she was the other woman. Her setbacks taught her early the importance of owning our power and creating our life stories. She takes her own advice which led her to interviewing Oprah Winfrey in the mogul’s backyard, teaching at Disney World and speaking globally from South Africa to Amsterdam.

As a trusted community leader, she serves as the Board Chair for the YWCA of South Hampton Roads, Virginia Innovation Partnership Authority Board of Director, a member of CIVIC Leadership Institute, the 757 Collab Board, Women Presidents Organization, and JMU Women for Madison Executive Advisory Council. She serves her community as a member of The Links Incorporated and Jack and Jill of America.

Driven with a vision and passion to teach and lead women to greatness, the third cohort of Reddix Rules is back and stronger than ever!

Reddix Rules Cohort 3, an entrepreneur grant and training program, launched in May of 2022 to empower and develop 10 women-of-color entrepreneurs. This initiative is led by Dr. Angela D. Reddix, an innovative leader, community builder, successful entrepreneur, and proven entrepreneur coach. After 15 years in business, she is mission-driven to continue to teach, lead, and develop with greater impact.


Designed to empower 10 small women-of-color businesses in the U.S., Reddix Rules Cohort 3 will have three (3) key components to assist these owners through an immersive entrepreneurship training, mental wellness coaching, and mentorship. Each participant receives $500 and enters into a Pitch Competition that awards $20K for a total of $25K in business funding. This type of investment of knowledge, leadership, and monetary support helps develop businesses while transforming communities by giving opportunities for more jobs.
